CHICAGO CHAPTER

About The Chapter

The Chicago Chapter of Project 2019 was established after a series of meetings in December of 1999. It was agreed that the major decision to be made was how best to meet the goals and objectives of Project 2019 in serving the black community within the Chicagoland area. It was agreed that, among other activities, the Chicago Chapter would host the Project 2019 "State Of The Movement" Banquet during Black History Month of the year 2000.

The year 2019 will be the 400th anniversary of the beginning of Slavery in America. When that year rolls around, it will either be a year that black Americans will joylessly lament our failures in America or joyfully celebrate our victories. The Chicago Chapter is determined to do its part to make 2019 a year in which all black Americans can proudly proclaim that, in spite of the fact that we had the furthest to go, we have successfully reached the Promised Land.
